17 test Tongan international Josh Afu has signed a marquee player deal with the HKFC.
The former Queensland Reds, Newcastle Falcons, Carcassonne and Kamaishi Seawaves lock or backrower has made the next move in his illustrious career making the move to Hong Kong where he will be joining the Hong Kong Football Club this week.
The move to Hong Kong for the experienced forward is a sign of how the game is evolving in Asia and Josh is thrilled to be joining such a well established club in the region.
Speaking on the move Josh said; ‘I’m really looking forward to this challenge, it is a bit of an unknown to me but i have only heard great things about the club and competition and can’t wait to get involved over there.’
Will Thomas, Director of Rugby at HKFC, commented ‘we are very much looking forward to Josh joining our squad as he comes with an excellent playing pedigree and a track record of playing in a few different countries. I’d like to thank Alex Deane for so swiftly arranging the deal over the festive period and look forward to further developing a relationship with The A-Team Sports over the coming season.’
We wish Josh all the best in the next phase of his career and can’t wait to see how much damage he does to his opposition.
