Tito Mua, Todd Pearce and James Head Sign With Melrose RFC

Veteran West Harbour outside back Tito Mua will be joining Eastwood’s Todd Pearce and former Hartpury College student James Head who have re-signed at Melrose for the 2014/15 season.

After a dominant 2013/14 season which saw Melrose crowned champions, Melrose were looking to further strengthen their squad ahead of next seasons British & Irish Cup campaign.

The electric Fijian Mua, brings a wealth of experience and flair and will compliment the very attack minded Melrose backline. We hope to also see Tito make a big impact at the Melrose 7s as the hosts look for more silverware to add to their already impressive cabinet.

JB Bruzulier signs for Worcester Warriors

Worcester Warriors have signed halfback JB Bruzulier from French side Le Parc for the next two seasons.

Welsh born Bruzulier, began his career with the Wales 7s before a move to England where he was picked up by Saracens back in the 2011/12 season. A move across to the South of France then followed where JB has family.

This season saw JB invited to train with French giants Toulon and was on track to join for next season however when the chance to push for regular first team appearances with Worcester appeared, JB jumped at the opportunity.

Bruzulier commenting on his move said; “I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, I really believe that the project for the next couple of years is very exciting. I want to work hard and earn my place.”

Dan Faleafa Signs For SC Albi

Former New Zealand Under 20s and current Tongan International Dan Faleafa has signed on with French ProD2 side SC Albi for the next two season.

After making his international debut for Tonga during the Pacific Nations Cup in 2013, Dan then went on to experience life as a player/coach in Sri Lanka before coming to Australia to join Randwick for their Shute Shield campaign.

His ability to cover anywhere in the back five of the pack make Dan a very valuable addition to Albi and hopefully his form with them over the next season will see him earn a World Cup spot with the always entertaining Tonga Ikale Tahi.

Pettowa Paraka Earns Bench Spot For Reds

Called in as a replacement for injured Saia Faingaa last weekend against the Stormers, The A-Team Sports Pettowa Paraka has once again earned a bench spot to face The Western Force at Suncorp Stadium this weekend.

The promising young front rower who came through the Australian Schoolboys and Australian Under 20s program continued to shine last month for the Reds A during the Pacific Rugby Cup where the Reds finished runners up to the Argentine Pampas.

Earmarked as a future Wallaby, Pettowa earned the praises of Rod Kafer in the pre-game commentary; “A very big, young man out of Papua New Guinea, a great ball carrier, can play hooker, can play prop…He’s got plenty of physical attributes, great around the field though, gets around really well and good skills and only 19 years old…Good young prospect”.

Hopefully this weekend sees Pettowa earn his first Super Rugby cap and we wish him all the best.

Melrose Claim Another RBS Premiership

Congratulations to The A-Team Sport’s Todd Pearce and James Head who took out the Scottish Premiership on Saturday with Melrose RFC.

After a tough 2012/13 season, Melrose reclaimed the Premiership after losing it for just one season and in turn earning a spot in the British & Irish Cup for 2014/15. A well deserved victory for the club who were the seasons most consistent performers.

Chris will now immediately join Aurillac where he is hopeful of getting a start this weekend against SC Albigeois.

A-Team Sports Trio Get Off To The Perfect Start

Theuns Kotze, JB Bruzulier and Brice Sililo have started their season in Federal 1 in the perfect manner going 3 wins from 3 starts. With the trio playing a crucial role in the mid field at 9, 10 and 12 their form has been critical to the teams success as they look to bounce straight back up into the ProD2.

Kotze’s experience in the play making role has been instrumental in the teams success. Theuns is now looking to take his form into the October internationals with Namibia as they aim to qualify for the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
